The sergeant at arms is responsible for maintaining club properties, arranging the meeting room and welcoming members and guests at each meeting.

Outside the Club Meeting, the sergeant at arms:

  • Attends district-sponsored club officer training.
  • Schedules the meeting location.
  • Maintains club equipment and checks after every meeting to ensure adequate supplies are available.

At the Club Meeting, the sergeant at arms:

  • Arranges the room and equipment at least 10 minutes before the meeting begins. Makes sure the lectern is in place, the banner displayed, evaluation forms and ballots are distributed, awards, supply catalog, progress chart and educational materials are displayed, place cards are arranged and name badges are available.
  • Greets members and guests and arranges for guests to sit with members.
  • Greets visiting officers and escorts them to the club president.
  • Ensures the meeting starts on time.
